    Question Getting Caught

    Hey Everyone.

I'm new hear and I was wondering what the worst would be if we got caught videoing someone?
Would we get charged, or a fine, or even a warning?

    Thanks

Depends on the situation but can definitely get charged. Also the severity changes drastically depending on the country, city and state. Look up your local laws. The country I live in is pretty relaxed on everything legally speaking but still pretty embarrassing and will need to pay bribe money to the police and also the victim.

Of course you can get into very big trouble depending on where you live. Prison, fines, sex registries not to mention personal problems. This is why the lack of respect for people here providing original material is so offensive.

They way I see it, if there is a chance that doing this can get you a prison sentence or a registered sex offender title, then this is illegal.
If it is illegal then these acts are illegal. If these acts are illegal then this site is illegal, which means that viewing this site is also illegal and your ISP could report you.

These laws are not the same internationally. Everyone's location is different. Their are different laws for viewing in public, different laws for viewing in a location with the reasonable expectation of privacy and there are many countries that have ZERO laws regarding Voyeurism. Contrary to what you believe the country you live in does not govern the world population.

Speaking from experience, in the US you can get jail time (3 days), probation (13 years), parole supervision (15 years) and sex registry (life). For me it was stopped for suspicious activity, searched, found a cam, watched the cam at the scene and found that even though it wasnt enough for a crime it was enough for a warrant. Searched my house and confiscated pretty much everything that plugged into a wall. Charged me with stuff completely unrelated, like pot, weapons, and an undeclared imported pet (true story). Threatened with almost a lifetime jail term. Took a plea for lifetime parole with no opportunity for appeal. Now just hoping the laws change but since politicians have NO incentive to reduce the laws, it probably wont happen.

The thing is, i'm still out voying, I just do it WAY smarter. Devices encrypted and auto-uploaded (everyone should buy Dropsync), staying on public land, never stopping anywhere for too long, etc. I lose a lot of good stuff because of it but I also get to live in a house, see the sun, drink soda, eat food prepared this year, etc. I'm also very careful about posting what I find. I wait for statute of limitations to expire and remove anything identifiable. Also I have an encrypted VPN on all my devices.

To add to thatdarnkat's comment I can also speak from experience as well. I live in the US and got busted for video voyuerism years ago and almost went to jail but my lawyer did his job and I was only sentenced with 1 year probation. I was still charged with a felony for invasion of privacy do to the state I live in. Even if it's a first time offense it can pretty much ruin your life so I would tread lightly if you decide to continue voyeuring. I will say for me that I have definitely learned form the experience and am way smarter now on what to do and not do.
