Default Need advice for permanent camera setup during bathroom remodel.

I am in the process of remodeling our bathroom. I am looking for a permanent set-up of 2 or 3 cameras to get some great wins to share with you fine folks. The toilet will be across from the hot tub/steam shower combo. I have seen others suggest using pinhole HD-SDI cameras and hiding them in door moldings or something to that effect. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding a good brand of pinhole HD-SDI cameras that you'd recommend? I want the best possible picture quality. And can anyone go into greater detail about how I might actually pull this off? We are doing all of the drywall, so I can run the bnc cable from the cameras (2 or 3 of them, from different angles of the room) to the dvr hidden away in another room. Doesn't anyone have any suggestions on a great DVR to use that can record 2 or 3 cameras in the highest quality HD possible coming from these pinhole cameras? Also I'd love to hear any ideas on the best way to conceal these pinhole cameras? Has anyone successfully hidden a cam behind a 2-way wall mirror? I've never seen one in person. Do they really look just like a regular mirror? If anyone has had positive experiences using 2-way mirrors for this purpose, could you recommend a brand or a company to buy from? Or if anyone has successfully installed a pinhole camera in drywall, or behind a door molding, I'd love to hear any advice you may have. And if anyone has samples shot using a pinhole HD-SDI camera that they recommend, I'd love to see what the picture quality is like. I'm really excited/nervous about pulling this off, so I'd appreciate all of your guys' expertise. I used to use one of those digital clock hidden cameras, but those are so obvious that it's really a miracle I never got caught. I'm trying to make this fool-proof. I also own a really nice Digital SLR that shoots in 4k, and am interested in any ideas for utilizing that for "SUPER WINS" in some sort of hidden cabinet or wall compartment behind a 2-way mirror, unless you guys think that's a terrible idea. I know I'm asking a lot of questions here, but I hope you guys are as excited as I am about the the possibilities here.

Ok, the hd-sdi toughsty bullet pinhole cam is the best I've found. The best placement I've found is in faux screwheads.

    here's what I would suggest.

    1. Take out walls where you want the cam

    2. Place and aim.

    3. Build up wall around the camera.
    - What works best for me is to place and aim the camera in wood that is the same thickness as drywall, drywall is too hard to work with.

    4. Let the spackle dry for a couple of weeks

    5. texture and paint

    6. Cover the cameras with cut-off screw heads.

I'm one of the only people on this forum that owns a cinema camera, and I thought about it, because if I ever did voyeur, I would have the highest quality images on this site. Shooting raw at 6k with a high dynamic range and good low light performance would create crazy images.

But as far as wins, I would suggest an SDI pinhole and then an external recorder that likely does prores or something similar. You would have to watch it to make sure you don't record too much as the files are huge, but that would be the best.

Do you have a way to hide the monitors and are you married/dating anyone? If so, how do you plan on hiding it from them?

You're not the only one! But I've found that frame rate does more for me than high resolution. I shoot at 1080p120 behind a full-length wall mirror and watch on a 144Hz monitor.

I am married, but I should be able to run the BNCs and set up the the DVR some place where it won't raise suspicion. A DVR that records in Prores would be amazing, but I would settle for any DVR that records in any codec, so long as it's at a high enough bit-rate if you or anyone else could please suggest one? I will be sure to build in ample lighting so that all scenes are well lit. Is there an HD-SDI/DVR setup that might have motion detection technology, to avoid recording an empty room and filling up the hard drive too quickly?

Thanks for your suggestion. Can I perhaps have you go into greater detail with step 6? Are these screws with a hole drilled through the center of the head for the camera to look through? Or are the screw heads meant to cover the cameras completely when they are not in use? Excuse my ignorance, and thank you!

Thank you for your reply! Can I please ask you what camera you're shooting with at 120fps, and perhaps have you explain your full-length wall mirror a little more? Is it pretty convincing as a regular mirror? And where did you get it? Is it just a mirror mounted to the wall? Or is it built into a wooden frame? Did you buy it already built or build it yourself? Any more info would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!
