Default Help with ideas - Shower camera

So this isn't my first nor will it be my last setup but I'm wanting to get some quality shower videos. I'm not worried about price as much as I am quality. Most devices that are on the market are cheap pieces of crap built in china. So wondering your thoughts on throwing this camera

inside a water resistant shower radio. If anyone has taken on a project like this please send some tips. Also I'm worried about steam on the lens among other things. I'd like to make this motion sensitive to save on battery power as well. Any and all advice welcome as I'm sure there are many things I have not thought of. Also if you know a different camera that would work better please tell me why.

I was once in a Wal-Mart and a guy had a table set up to demonstrate a spray that kept glass from fogging up. He demonstrated it on mirrors that wouldn't fog, said it worked on all glass and lenses, even treated my glasses for free. Wish I had bought some of it. Stuff like that is out there.

Interesting feature in your link is the motion sensitive activation which should help save on battery. I guess you're going with something mobile instead of permanently installed because your storage is on the card and will be in the radio. I'd think the hardest part will be getting your shot framing to line up.

This is the shower radio I plan to use so should be able to line it up exactly how I need.

It has a suction cup as well as a hanging piece. I plan to drill a small hole just above the speaker holes and below the "VTIN" logo for the lens so it should blend in very well.

i can almost guarantee this won't work. there's way too many big things that could go wrong that surely at least one of them will go wrong and ruin everything. your original link has "waterproof" in the link, but that thing isn't waterproof. and it doesn't claim to be waterproof anywhere on their website as far as i can see. it's not even water resistant. it'll fry if it gets too steamy.

the shower radio idea is even more flawed. i don't even know where to begin with that. if the hole you drill is even SLIGHTLY different than the other holes, it will be noticed. if it doesn't line up perfectly in symmetry with the other holes it will be noticed. even so, it will look out of place and will be noticed. a single hole that small will block so much of the lens i can't imagine you'd get anything good anyway. and if you fuck up, you better be ready to buy another radio. are you planning on gutting the inside of the shower radio to make this cam fit? that's the only way i can see you being able to squeeze it in there. that'd make the radio useless and if someone gets curious about the radio and why it doesn't work, well, you may be fucked. and are you sure this radio will even open up? if they're claiming to be waterproof, it may be sealed, and for good reason. if you open it up it could ruin any waterproofing that it had. i could write a book about how many flaws this setup would have.

you're much better off just opening up a vent in the bathroom and sticking the cam inside there. still not a great idea but way better than this

Okay to address some things you stated. I'm well aware the camera itself is not waterproof, I'm not sure why the link even states it is. The part that is "water resistant" as I stated is the clock radio itself. Also I'm not sure how much experience you have in actually building hidden cameras out of devices but I've built a few myself. I'm not expert by any means but I've made a few in alarm clocks and other household devices for friends. Also I have taken this radio apart and just like most radios there is plenty of extra space inside for the parts needed and to make it water resistant again I'd just need to place more sealant around it when sealing it back up again. Now to address the hole size for the lens on the shower radio. This is another reason I believe you don't have much experience in this area... Those board camera do not need much of a hole to have full view as if there was nothing there. I have done this many times and never had an issue as these cameras are nearly pinhole cameras. I feel like you should have a little more experience before shooting someone down like you did.

By the way in what world is opening up a vent and putting a camera inside there a better idea then a WORKING waterproof camera radio with motion sensor that runs off the battery from the radio??? For one any lens in a vent is a dead giveaway and the angle alone isn't worth the risk. The only possible way for someone to know my device is a camera is if they open the battery area and pull out the rechargeable battery (not sure why anyone would unplug a rechargeable battery and then remove it) and then inspect it to find the small slit I made for the memory card... Other than that if they look very close at the right hole they will see a slight reflection from the lens.
