Default Perminant set up in bathroom.

Looking for some serious and professional help with a long term reliable set up. Cost and skill is no issue. I have money and the ability to wire electrical and drywall repair. Or modifications to something in order to hide a camera.

My current "go to" set up is a mobius action camera with a 10k external power bank. I usually hide it in my shower bag or amongst clutter.

One of my ideas is to buy a 2 way body mirror. Frame it up real nice and hide a camera inside of it. Taping into the lighting circuit to supply my power. I could have plenty of space in this mirror for any other equipment I needed such as a transformer or router.

What I'm looking for is a long term perminant camera. I would like to be able to access it via Wi-Fi so I wouldn't have to remove he mirror in order to get the SD. I just purchased this house, it's my house and it will be for the next 7+ years. Anything goes. If you have had a great experience or love your current perminant set up. Shoot me some info so I can start researching. Thanks everyone!

Sometimes... Thinking small is more effective than grand designs. For instance... My main cam ($300 key-chain) was constantly overheating and either killing quality or completely failing. I spent days trying to construct an intricate method for keeping my cam cool during lengthy sessions. In the end, I discovered that placing my cam on a small frozen burrito double wrapped in a sandwich bag and then neatly placed in my setup worked pretty damn well. Ridiculous? Absolutely... Effective? I always have burritos in my freezer. Permanent and static setups are a comforting thought... I have found constant change and movement to be a life giver. My advice?

2 way body mirror sounds pretty wicked

I'm not exactly sure what your trying to say sl33p3rs. Are you saying simple is better? I do enjoy my shower bag set up. It seems to work great. The few things I don't like is that I have overheard some friends and acquaintances of mine actually using the word voyeurism. Talking about people they know who have been recently caught and in the news. So to avoid any detection at all, I would like to have a set up that would require someone to have to punch a hole in the wall in order to find the truth. Its too easy to open a shower bag and see the camera. The person would have nothing to lose by opening your bag. They would be far more hesitant to punch a hole in the wall to find a camera. I really like my 2 way mirror idea. But I am also open to many others. I will be Looking for outlet cameras to use. Also small screw cameras that may be more temporary. Like I said, I want to get away from the temporary stuff and get on a more professional level of voyeur. What other types of set ups have you used? You should try the mobius action camera. It hides well and I have never had it over heat or take a shit on me. Only $90 and it has lasted me over a year. Plus it has motion detection. Great camera for the price.

2 way mirrors aren't the answer for every thing, they can be detected with a simple fingernail test - hold your fingernail against the glass - it the reflection & your nail touch - its a 2 way mirror if there is a gap between the reflection & your nail it is a std mirror. 2 way mirrors have their reflective surface on the front of the glass (thats why the reflection touches) where as normal mirrors have their reflective surfaces on the back of the glass (gap between nail & reflection)

Still doesn't uncover the hidden cam - but looks pretty sus having a 2 way mirror in you bathroom & will take some quick explaining LOL
    I observe the Voyeur's Code:

"I pledge to never, under any circumstances, share, post, trade or otherwise distribute any original content that I receive privately from another voyeur without his express permission, ever. I expect other voyeurs I trade with to abide by the same strict policy where my own original content is concerned. This agreement must hold forever, even years after the files have been traded and all contact has ceased."

That little bit of information regarding your friends mentioning voyeurism alters the picture quite a bit for me. That's gotta make the heart skip a little when hearing that term while your cam is rolling. Initially, I was under the impression you were trying to change what was working for you to avoid hassle. Honestly, it is so difficult to offer advice on a room I have never seen. I am not a cam and setup expert, and I wish I could help more. My area of skill is more in the art of going unseen. I have ran in to problems similar to your own, but not exact. I have found that a lot of solutions to my problems were much more obvious than I originally anticipated. You are definitely on the right track by doing the research. Kiwi is right... While a 2 way body mirror sounds wicked, it also has it's vulnerabilities. If the term "voyeurism" was brought up by women that I am trying to cam, I would stop immediately. Women seem to get on kicks of being hyper-vigilant. Luckily, this is your bathroom. Big advantage here. I have found setups that can be "locked" are quite useful. In a technique post I mentioned that at one time I had success using a gym bag with double zipper loops and a tsa lock... If I am asked why there is a lock on it... People stole from me at the gym. Not the permanent fix... But it worked when I needed it to

I made a toilet paper holder of a vintage wooden beam combined with some forged steel little "door" and holder. Cut out a some space inside the beam that holds a powerbank - combined it with a 808 cam with extended lens. Lens "looking" through a screwhead hole. This setup is almost undetectable. Also it's a bit of "work" and you need tools to get to the sd card as i have to unscrew the setting each time. You need quite some skills like cutting wood, welding etc. Putting the right angle on the cam was pretty tricky.

To get some ideas of a possible workout google (for example) "steampunk toilet" pictures.

The best permanent setup I ever had was with a small pinhole camera placed in a bathroom behind the door casing/moulding. You remove the door casing, rout out a small compartment behind it, and place you camera there. There is plenty of room for larger cameras because you can cut into the drywall behind he door casing/moulding and hide some pretty good sized stuff. The pinhole for the camera looked like a nail hole so it wasn't very noticeable.

Additionally, you can run a cable down the wall behind the door casing and into another room or downstairs. My setup was in a first floor bathroom so the cord for the camera ran down into the basement and plugged into a VCR. This was a LONG time ago. I only powered it on when someone was there so no real worries about it getting hot.

Another benefit of this design is that you likely have plenty of casing/moulding in your house to practice on. Go into a closet somewhere in your home and you'll find moulding inside the closet around the door that no one ever pays any attention to. So you can take a piece of this off (it will have matching stain colors) and do the mods to it. If it works and looks good, swap it with the moulding in the bathroom. If if doesn't look good, just put it back in the closet and move on.

One more thing... try not to put the camera lens hole at eye level. Put it about knee level. You'll still get good videos and it will be much harder to spot. You can also take the moulding on and off as needed. If you have someone coming to visit, swap the moulding and hook up the camera. The less time the camera is there the less likely you are to get caught. Make sure your permanent setup can be easily removed/dismantled as needed to reduce the likelihood of getting caught.

dunno if you have seen the voyeur russian series from 2006. Unlucky Lady - Video Scandal , Voyeur Video, Sexploitation And More!

dunno if it's staged, but it seems it uses a 2 way mirror, but the mirror has been tweaked. It seems like the big center is a normal mirror, and the frame is the 2 way mirror. so that, people will be less suspicious. also a 2 way mirror is kinda easy to detect with a little of knowledge.

I did see this method of debunking 2 way mirror. But honestly, I never even knew that until I decided to look it up. I would imagine that most people have no idea about that little trick. And my falback plan would be to tell them "idk if it's a 2 way, I bought it at a thrift store" I figured that would end the discussion right there.

I should have said that the term voyeur has been used around me, but not by people who I directly associate myself with and defiantly not by any women who I plan on capturing. Thanks for your help. I'm still going to research a bunch
